The surge in violence that has marked 2020 has taken an especially tragic impact: The number of shooting victims younger than 10-years-old is the highest in all years tracked by the Chicago Tribune and more than double last year.17 children, 10 years old and younger have been shot in Chicago as of the end of July according to Tribune data.
